Discover a natural, holistic approach to health and well-being with the power of Acupuncture. An Ancient Practice for Modern Wellness.

Overview

Acupuncture is an ancient healing practice that originated in China thousands of years ago. It is a key component of Traditional Chinese Medicine and has been used for centuries to help promote
balance, wellness, and the body’s natural healing abilities. Traditional acupuncture involves the gentle insertion of very thin needles at specific points on the body. These acupuncture points are connected by pathways through which the body’s vital energy, or qi (pronounced “chee”), flows. Modern research continues to explore how acupuncture may affect the nervous system, circulation, and the body’s natural pain-relieving processes. Acupuncture can be a primary treatment or incorporated into care for headaches and migraines, neck and back pain, joint and muscle discomfort, stress and anxiety, sleep difficulties, digestive complaints, and other health concerns. Treatment is individualized based on each patient’s symptoms, health history, and overall wellness goals.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does acupuncture hurt?

Most people find acupuncture to be very comfortable. Acupuncture needles are extremely thin, and their
insertion typically causes little to no discomfort. You may feel a brief sensation such as a mild tingling, warmth,
or pressure as the needles are placed. Many patients find acupuncture sessions relaxing and may even
become deeply relaxed or fall asleep during treatment.

How many acupuncture treatments will I need?

The number of treatments varies depending on the individual, the condition being addressed, and how long the
symptoms have been present. Some people notice improvement after just a few sessions, while others may
benefit from a longer course of treatment. Your acupuncturist can discuss an appropriate treatment schedule
with you and adjust it based on your progress.

Is acupuncture safe?

When performed by a properly trained and licensed practitioner using sterile, single-use needles, acupuncture
is considered safe. Some people may experience minor, temporary effects such as slight bruising, soreness, or
a small amount of bleeding at the needle site. Before treatment, your practitioner will review your health history
and discuss any factors that may affect your care to help ensure acupuncture is appropriate for you.
